Questions

  • Photos of scenery from the vehicle or bus are allowed. When we arrive at farms, homes, and stores, photography is not permitted, of respect for this community’s rules.

  • The communities we are visiting are happy and excited for our visits. Feel free to speak with those we visit with kind, respectful language and mannerisms.

Children under 15 have not had much interaction with others from outside their communities. That does not mean that we cannot greet the children. Many children will smile, wave, and watch from windows. In fact, some children may be assisting in sales.

Please gear questions and interactions towards the adults that are assisting us. At most of our stops, the adults are quite happy to interact.

  • Cash is accepted at all stops and it is advised that you bring small bills. All goods available for purchase are reasonably priced.

The Amish merchants do not accept any form of digital payment.

  • Your purchases are what these families look forward to. Purchases are very reasonably priced.

Tipping at the stops is not expected. However, if you tell a family to keep the change, that is not frowned upon.

There may be other items available for purchase such as wood crafts, rugs, and a plethora of other items at a reasonable cost.

Please ask your guide at any stop if you are in need of a bathroom, and we will do our best to accommodate.

  • Please wear weather appropriate clothing, that will be comfortable for 3+ hours.
